There is a Season

Everywhere I turn a door is closing and I'm trying to find the corresponding door that is opening. But no luck so far.
There is progress, our house is under contract and if all goes according to plan (!) June 2nd will be the end of 4 fabulous years in this wonderful place. The wildlife, the lake, the comfy house. Poof! Gone! And on to the next. Actually my hubby (dear man that he is), knowing how it makes me crazy when I don't have a spot on which to land, has come through, again! and arranged to rent an itty bitty teeny weeny hobbit house for the summer [see itty bitty teeny weeny picture upper right corner]. Up on a mountain overlooking a large, beautiful lake. 15 rooms to 3 rooms. In about 30 days life will be very different. A bedroom, A bathroom (shower but no bathtub, ah well.) One sofa, one chair, a couple of living room tables and a bed, some kitchen necessities and Bud the cat of course. That's it. Oh, clothes and a couple of bath towels!
This is going to be very interesting. However, it has a cozy little setting with a fire ring outside overlooking the lake and out back the hobbity chimney has a pizza oven built into it [yep it's that rusty door in the photo - on the side of a distinctly oddly built chimney]. It's a good spot, hope it doesn't sell (to the nice owners who agreed to let us rent it-sorry, nothing personal) until summer's over and we can settle in for just a bit.
And now, dear readers, you ask just what has all this to do with weight loss? Why everything of course. Any break in the routine, any pick-up-everything-you-own-and-move, everything you live with (pretty much) goes off to live somewhere else and it affects your weight loss big time. The biggest hickup is the loss of routine. For about a month, I have no routine. The only constant is my gym workout - and even that may get suspended for a week or so right at the end when every single minute counts towards getting it all done and tied up with packing tape and a bow!
The good news is this. We figure, after living 3 months without all our stuff we will know exactly what we can live without and what needs to move on with us - it's a great test of my new "house loses thousands of pounds in just weeks" project. One can only hope it keeps the weight off better than I usually do. And while I'm living in an itty bitty house it would definitely behoove (doncha love that word?) me to put the diet in high gear - the smaller I get the bigger the house gets! Sounds exactly like Alice in Wonderland to me - everything getting larger and smaller all around me - hmpf. Well. And your clothes take up less room and you can sleep in a smaller spot and you can be healthier, enjoy the hikes up the mountain and sitting by the fire ring at darkfall, counting stars and listening to the night. . . say goodnight Alice. Goodnight.

WOW! You always did adapt to change more than I do. I will keep the prayers and moon dances coming to help your house sell.
I guess I will not be visiting you until you move. I never manage to make it where you move. Hopefully, this time, you will be closer.
Well, although I do seem to wander a bit, I am curious about those of you who manage to stay in one place. Guess I haven't found my [Yaqui Way of Knowledge]"spot" just yet, though does occur to me that now would be a good time for that to happen. One last move. . .
