Just a Ray of Sunshine Life
Okay, so I had a perfect trip to Missoula - spent an hour and a half and a small fortune (to me, anyway) in the bead store from heaven. Life was very good for that moment in time.
Then what do I do? Fall down the darn steps! Well of course the floor at the bottom of the steps from the living room to the entry is Concrete, I mean, of Course it is. I mean, Why not? If it wasn't concrete you couldn't get half as hurt, right?
Just when you think you're home free, survived the road, the traffic, the crazies, the germs, the drunks and the deer, you come home, lose your footing in the dark of the early morning hours and Boom! Your harmony is wrecked, your pleasant memories are in ruins along with your knee, your back, your ankle and both skinned hands. Dang it.
And of course I had Bud the Cat with me, he went flying as well - scared him for all of 2 seconds, then he calmly lands on his feet and proceeds to bathe away the memory.
I should be so lucky. Ouch, walking is going to be heck for a few days. Oh well, gym time definitely pays off and I'm seeing it now. I didn't break anything and I am walking - even though it hurts. I know it would be much tougher if I hadn't been working out and strength training this past year. So there ya go. I found a Ray of Sunshine in the Darkness of Pain.
Once again, my Hero to the rescue. Gets me off the concrete (once I stopped screaming in pain and he figured out my leg wasn't broken, did I tell you he was an EMT at one point in our life together?) and into bed. Checks again for damages, wraps my knee and puts the cat out, waits for cat to come back inside and just hugs me up and takes good care of me. Gotta love him. There ya go, I found another Ray of Sunshine in my Darkness.
It's all good. Now if I could just walk . . . I'm sure I'll find a Ray of Sunshine somewhere in there too. PL&F, y'all.
PS My fortune for today is Tap Into Imperfection. Gotta love it. I mean, really?
