Thanksgiving Thoughts

Took this photo this summer of an Osprey sitting on a tree right outside our window.  He was fishing our lake that afternoon.  Montana is full of the most gorgeous scenery and wildlife abounds.  We had eagles, hawks, wild turkeys, osprey, great blue heron, elk, deer, bears!, always something in the yard.  The only thing that was spooky was the coyotes, howling through in the night.  You'd wake up and hear them coming, getting louder, than on they would go until you couldn't hear their calls anymore.  I always loved to get up in the night and listen for the owls talking to each other around the lake.  We had an otter pass through the lake, and also there was a resident muskrat (personal friend of Bud the Cat).

Anyway, just thought I'd share this as we have so many blessings in this country to be thankful for today.  There is still wilderness y'all, there is still serene, perfect, wildness.  And that is definitely a blessing to behold.  I am thankful for the opportunity to have lived here and I am thankful to have seen these animals in the wild - and in my yard.  If you haven't traveled to Montana I hope someday you will.
